"102 MInutes that Changed America" is a September 11, 2001 premiering on The History Channel. Over 100 people recorded horrific attacks on Twin Towers in New York.

September 11, 2001 is a date remembered by Americans as if it was yesterday. Like the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, Americans remember when they were and what they were doing when they heard the shocking news that America was under attack. Airplanes crashed into the World Trade Center Twin Towers, killing thousands and horrifying millions. The History Channel is airing minute by minute first person video accounts of September 11 on "102 Minutes That Changed America."

News cameras caught the images of the second airplane as it crashed into the second of the Twin Towers. Millions of viewers watched their televisions in horror as the iconic Twin Towers in New York crumbled to the ground, killing thousands of people.

"102 Minutes that Changed America" is a documentary of first person accounts during the felling of the Twin Towers. This dramatic footage will premiere on the History Channel on Thursday, September 11, 2008 at 9:00 PM ET/PT without commercial interruption, according to information released by The History Channel.

September 11, 2001

It was a sunny New York morning on the day that the horrific attack on the World Trade Center Twin Towers took place. Suicide bombers intentionally crashed their airplanes into the World Trade Center. As shocking events unfolded, some witnesses grabbed their video cameras and recorded history in the making. The presentation on the History Channel airs footage from over 100 sources which have been carefully pieced together in chronological order.

Video footage will be presented without narration or commentary, to provide the viewer an immersion into this emotional experience. The documentary records the ranges of emotions, from bewilderment to the shock and horror that America was under attack. Video footage includes different points of view from around the city.

  • A camera follows firefighters on the ground.
  • Views from points around the city, including Times Square, Staten Island and in New Jersey.

Production of "102 MInutes that Changed America"

"102 Minutes that Changed America" took over 24 months to research. The production team screened over 500 hours of professional and amateur video tape and more than 30 hours of audio recordings.

Americans must never forget the terrorist attacks in New York and on the United States of America.. "102 Minutes That Changed America" is a documentary film that takes viewers inside the experience, from the vantage points of real life citizens who captured the historic event on film.

The History Channel will premiere "102 MInutes that Changed America" on September 11, 2008.
